What we do
Raw lot to building pad.
Southern Utah lots come with juniper, sage, rock and a slope that does not match the plans. We clear it, grub it, cut and fill to grade, build and compact the pad, and set the drainage so water leaves the structure instead of pooling against it.
We haul off what you do not want and bring in what you do: fill, road base, gravel, sand.

Grading a desert lot is mostly about water and rock.
Clearing and grading in Washington County means dealing with what the lot is made of, not just what is growing on it.
Caliche
Cut-and-fill through hardpan needs the right machine. Leaving it in the wrong place under a pad leads to uneven settling.
Blue clay
Expansive clay under a pad has to be handled per the geotech report, usually over-excavation and compacted fill, before anything is built on it.
Rock & drainage
Boulders and sandstone come out or get used as fill where allowed, and every pad gets graded so monsoon runoff leaves the structure instead of pooling against it.

Common questions
Do you haul away the material you clear?
Yes. Haul-off is part of the bid, and we can deliver fill, road base or gravel on the same trip.
How do you price land clearing?
By the lot after a site walk: acreage, vegetation, rock and access all matter. We give a written number before we start.
Can you grade for drainage around an existing house?
Yes. Regrading to move water away from a foundation is one of the most common calls we get in Hurricane and St. George.
Do you build driveways?
We cut, grade and base them. For asphalt or concrete surfacing we coordinate with a paving or concrete contractor.
